Abstract

Bucovina is a cultural landscape in the triangle bordered by the Ukraine, Romania and Moldova. Based on a theoretical planning approach in destination marketing management, Bucovina is to be regarded as a destination situated at the beginning of the product life cycle. Literature, internet research, qualitative interviews and on site-observations depict Bucovina’s organizational, political, administrative and market structure (national and international supply and demand) as a tourist destination Based on the analysis of the impact of the financial crises to Bucovina tourism the authors explore Bucovina’s potential for using a modern Tourist Information System in destination management to overcome the decline and manage the Bucovina travel destination in a sustainable, rapid and regulated manner.
